As someone without a background in graphic design or photography, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to dive into the world of photography. If you're in the same boat, don't worry – I'm here to offer some guidance on what to do before, during, and after a shoot.

Even if you're already a creative guru, it's always helpful to have a plan in place to ensure that your shoot goes smoothly. So whether you're a beginner or an experienced photographer, here are some tips to help you prepare for your next shoot and ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Start with these 3 simple questions:

  1. What's the reason for the shoot?
  2. Who are the people looking at the photos?
  3. What do you want them ^ to feel when they look at the photos?

If you are unsure of any of these questions or if you need any sort of help, feel free to pop me a message and I will be glad to help.

What's else?

Before your shoot

I believe that communication is the key to creating stunning photographs that perfectly capture your vision, so let's set up a call and chat! It's important for me to get to know you and understand your perspective, so we can work together to bring your vision to life. Plus, it's always nice to get to know each other a little better before the actual shoot, right?

When we chat, feel free to share your ideas and references with me so I can get a better sense of the look and feel you're going for. Creating a mood board is a great way to help me understand your vision and ensure that we're on the same page.

Planning ahead is crucial, so let's discuss your shooting date, location, wardrobe, and any other important details ahead of time. This will give us plenty of time to secure any resources we need, such as makeup artists or photo assistants.

Most importantly, don't forget to take care of yourself before the shoot! Make sure you're well-rested and hydrated, so you can feel your best and truly shine in front of the camera. I can't wait to meet you on set and create some amazing photos together!

During your shoot

Welcome to your photoshoot with me! I'm excited to work with you and capture stunning images that perfectly reflect your vision. To get started, we'll begin by chatting and getting to know each other a bit better. This helps us both feel more comfortable and relaxed, setting the tone for a fun and enjoyable shoot.

During the session, I may suggest trying out a few different poses and angles to capture the best shots possible. But don't worry, I'll check in with you regularly to make sure you're comfortable and happy with the direction of the shoot. And if at any point you have any suggestions or want to make adjustments, please don't hesitate to let me know - your satisfaction is my top priority.

Overall, I want this to be a fun and stress-free experience for you, resulting in images that you'll treasure for years to come. So, let's get started and create something beautiful together!

After your shoot

Congratulations on reaching the final stage of your shoot! It's been an honor to be chosen as your photographer and capture your special moments. To help you understand what to expect next, I wanted to give you a brief overview of my photo delivery process.

Within 5-7 days of the shoot, I will send you a link with the first batch of photos. These images will be filtered and graded, so you can get a feel for how they turned out. Once you've had a chance to review them, you can select your favorite images for further editing and touch-ups.

After you've made your selections, I will work on enhancing those images and send them to you via WeTransfer link. I want you to be completely satisfied with the final result, so please don't hesitate to let me know if there are any specific requests or adjustments you'd like me to make.

Once again, thank you for entrusting me with your memories. I look forward to sharing the final product with you soon!

Outdoor session

I definitely have a love-hate relationship with an outdoor photography session

+ you get a variety of choices for backgrounds (and that creamy bokeh if you know what I'm talking about).

+ you get to bath in the sunshine and wainds.

+ freedom to use the environment to aid in the compositions.

- you are at the mercy of the weather.

- shoot times are usually pretty early or pretty late into the day (typically 7:30am-10am or 4:30pm - 6:30pm) so to avoid the blazing sun and the squinty eyes, as well as to make use of the soft lights during these times.

- could be exhausting as we all know how the typical Singaporean weather is like.

Studio Session

While a studio session comes with an additional cost of about $60-$80 per hour, with a minimum booking of 2 hours, it does have its benefits. You will be able to enjoy the comfort of air conditioning and privacy in a controlled environment.

One of the major advantages of shooting in a studio is having full control over the lighting with the use of studio equipment. This makes it a great option if you're looking for professional portraits or creative lighting setups. Consider booking a studio if these are the shots you desire.

Fear not! My job here is to make sure that your photography experience is as smooth as possible, do let me know if you need help planning the locations and how you would like the shoot to proceed, and I will try my best to assist!
